Salman Sayyid is Professor of Social Theory and Decolonial Thought at the University of Leeds. He is the author of numerous works on IslamismIslamophobiacritical theory; and the founding editor of ReOrient: The Journal of Critical Muslim Studies. He previously worked as Director of the Center for Muslim and Non-Muslim Understanding at the University of South Australia at Adelaide. He is also the author of A Fundamental Fear: Eurocentrism and the Emergence of Islamism, Recalling the Caliphate: Decolonisation and World Order, and the forthcoming (2017) Islamism as Philosophy: Decolonial Horizons.
